This exactly. Which is why when the tech support didn’t want to file a ticket, I pushed for it to be filed. The product managers make the decision, and if they don’t see tickets it doesn’t exist.
Hm, so why do you think he didn’t?
Yeah, I’m not a dev, but I work with dev teams. They all don’t test with firefox anymore. Not enough ROI according to the product managers.
I talked to tech support once, they said it won’t get fixed, and there was no workaround. It was a platform type site. So I’m not their direct custom. A small business is. And the people at the small business have never heard of firefox. So they don’t even understand the problem.
I tried the spoofer on a few, and they still failed. I thought it was supposed to be all chromium under the hood, but somehow it’s different. And companies don’t test firefox, nor care.
I keep wanting to sub to a usenet provider, but never have the time to try and figure out which one and such.
Meh, report the card stolen then cancel.
Sadly I am running into more and more things that don’t work on firefox. Stuff like medical record portals, financial websites for my companies retirement plan. Stuff I have little choice about. And most fail silently. They don’t say it is the browser. I don’t know how they are doing it, but google is winning the fight.
I think he believes, like I do, that a general strike is not going to happen right now. If he were to call for it, and it fails to happen, he loses a lot of his influence. And most people aren’t willing to put thier livelihood on the line yet. As for unions… they are already on the up swing. More and more places are unionizing. I don’t think that effort needs his help at the moment. But I could be wrong on that.
Probably better he was out of the way. His photo ops would have diverted resources
Maybe if we stop paying for unfinished games we won’t have to care about the drama the comes before the release. We can just see the finished product. Then we don’t have to guess how crap like this might effect the game.
I know people want to pin this on trump, but I don’t see it. The nation system did what it usually does. Now maybe it should have done more. But that would be on not just trump, but the administrations that preceeded him too. Like why did so many people not get the alert? That isn’t a new problem, but one that isn’t getting solved.
The rest of the blame is local. Texas does run away from regulations. And clearly anyone housing children in a flood plain should have some regulations to keep those kids safe. Maybe they exist but weren’t enforced, I dunno.
No child deserved to die before they had a chance to decide thier own idealogy as an adult.
Cheering for the adults who died is no better than cheering a out ICE raids. Neither targeted “bad” people.
I do agree that on average, people are generally good. But over time, groups or cliches always form. And it takes very few bad people to trigger group preservation mentality. The larger the group, the greater the odds you will have some ambitious or just plain evil people who can manipulate the group. That ability towork together is actually what makes this possible. As for rape. Take 3 guys and 2 girls for 90 days. 1 or 2 will probably end up getting laid regularly. The other guy or guys will start to resent that. It’s evelution again. Guys are driven internally to mate. It causes them to do a lot of stupid things. That is a big part of why rape happens today. There are countless examples in the real world, not books and movies.
You need look no further than trump. He used hate and group elitism to get elected. Many of the people who voted for him didn’t even hate the immigrants in thier town, and were suprised when they got arrested. They weren’t evil people, they just succumbed to the group preservation instinct.
And for the otherside you have luigi. People who would never kill another person support him for killing a CEO because CEOs and the rich are a distinct different group.
But if you limit the resources like food for those 5 people, and 3 speak english, while 2 speak only languages they understand. Those 2 are dead meat. Even if it was like 3 strong guys and 2 petite women, bad things would happen after a little while, and at least 1 of the guys would end up dead. In reality, any 5 people would cooperate temporarily. But sooner or later they would split into factions. Exceptions do occur, but look at any office, school, team or band. Factions end up forming, almost always around competition, percieved or otherwise. It’s how humans get ahead. The amount of time a group can survive is mainly dependent on thier ability to exploit another group.
He does try to give a solution. It’s just that there is little to nothing the average viewer can do to make it happen. Sadly, that is just the way it is. Same with Bernie. We actually can’t make the solutions happen. But both are raising public awareness, which “can” impact policy. So I guess watching and listening is what we can do.
I think best case we end up with 4 political parties. But it is really sad if the best way to get there really is all the pain and suffering that is happening now. It’s hard to say if all out civil war would be better or worse really.
Humans evolved in a space of competition with other species. That drive results in what we have now with people hatinging others because they are different. Sadly, there is no evolutionary drive to counter that. In fact, society still supports that drive by elevating those who leverage that hate for thier own profit. So I guess our best bet is for AI to take over, or aliens.
Since the outcome of the election was unknown at the time of the vote, no it isn’t as you say. Only after the fact can you say that not voting was a vote for trump. At the time, not voting was refusing to vote for either candidate that would continue the genocide.
For the people who feel that way… I would assume they sleep better at night than most of us. As far as end result, too soon to tell. But the rise of people like the NYC mayoral primary winner indicates that it might be having an impact. Even the Republicans are talking about splitting into two parties. This isn’t the way I personally would have chosen to instigate progress, but it might be happening.
