  • I know people want to pin this on trump, but I don’t see it. The nation system did what it usually does. Now maybe it should have done more. But that would be on not just trump, but the administrations that preceeded him too. Like why did so many people not get the alert? That isn’t a new problem, but one that isn’t getting solved.

The rest of the blame is local. Texas does run away from regulations. And clearly anyone housing children in a flood plain should have some regulations to keep those kids safe. Maybe they exist but weren’t enforced, I dunno.

No child deserved to die before they had a chance to decide thier own idealogy as an adult.

Cheering for the adults who died is no better than cheering a out ICE raids. Neither targeted “bad” people.

  • I do agree that on average, people are generally good. But over time, groups or cliches always form. And it takes very few bad people to trigger group preservation mentality. The larger the group, the greater the odds you will have some ambitious or just plain evil people who can manipulate the group. That ability towork together is actually what makes this possible. As for rape. Take 3 guys and 2 girls for 90 days. 1 or 2 will probably end up getting laid regularly. The other guy or guys will start to resent that. It’s evelution again. Guys are driven internally to mate. It causes them to do a lot of stupid things. That is a big part of why rape happens today. There are countless examples in the real world, not books and movies.

You need look no further than trump. He used hate and group elitism to get elected. Many of the people who voted for him didn’t even hate the immigrants in thier town, and were suprised when they got arrested. They weren’t evil people, they just succumbed to the group preservation instinct.

And for the otherside you have luigi. People who would never kill another person support him for killing a CEO because CEOs and the rich are a distinct different group.
